Nicholson Drive (Brightside to Gourrier)
Project Overview:
Nicholson Drive (Brightside to Gourrier) is currently a two lane roadway with shoulders from Brightside Lane to Gourrier Avenue. There is a railroad and a bike lane on the west side of the roadway. The proposed typical section will be determined during the NEPA EA process. The project will provide significantly improved access into and out of the LSU area and Downtown Baton Rouge along with an improved connection to the proposed Nicholson @ Brightside / West Lee Intersection Improvement (GLP Project L1) and Brightside Lane improvement (GLP Project K).

Project Progress: The Nicholson Drive project will be funded through the Environmental Assessment proocess. The 2nd public meeting was held on February 18, 2016 at the Louisiana Transportation Research Center.
Project Look Ahead: All comments for the recommended alternatives will be incorporated into the Final Draft EA. The draft EA is scheduled to be complete in July 2016. The public hearing is scheduled for August 2016. Following the DOTD/FHWA approval, the Final EA will be distributed to the public.
