Old Hammond Highway Segment 1 Intersection Improvements
Project Overview:This segment of Old Hammond will incorporate Intersection Improvements required at South Flannery Road and Old Hammond Highway in preparation for future widening of Old Hammond. The project will widen the current two lane roadway to provide two through lanes in each direction with sidewalks and a raised median. When combined with other projects in the plan, it will provide an improved east-west connection extending from Airline Highway to ONeal Lane.

Project Budget: $15,531,495.00
Project Progress: This project has been identified as a candidate for federal assistance. This project is undergoing an Environmental Assessment from Boulevard De Province to Millerville Road. A public meeting was held on August 4, 2016 at the Fairwood Branch Library from 5-8pm. The consultant has assembled the transcript with all public comments. Hard copies of the document were presented to DOTD/FHWA, the State Library, Parish Library and the Fairwood Branch Library. In addition, electronic copies were made available to all City/Parish and State officials representing this district. The public will be provided access through the libraries and on the Green Light Plan website.
Project Look Ahead: DOTD and FHWA will review and comment on the submitted transcript. The consultant will address all comments and prepare a Final Draft submittal for DOTD/FHWA concurrence. The Draft EA is scheduled for submittal in April 2017.
