Project Overview:This project will provide a connection from Perkins Road to the Mall of Louisiana Boulevard/I-10 Interchange. This new roadway will start at Perkins Road between Wimbledon Subdivision and Perkins Rowe and then connect to Mall of Louisiana Blvd. This four-lane curb-and-gutter project will include a raised median, sidewalks, a new bridge crossing at Dawson Creek, and an underpass at the Kansas City Southern (KCS) railroad. This project will provide an alternative route to I-10 and Perkins Road.

Project Progress: This project has been split into two phases. Phase I will develop access from Perkins Road to Park Rowe. Phase II will complete the four lane section from Perkins Road to The Mall of Louisiana Boulevard including bridges and a railroad underpass. Phase I was let on November 8, 2016 to Industrial Enterprises and a Notice to Proceed was issued on March 6, 2016. The contractor has completed excavation and installation of subsurface drainage on Phase 1. The west and center lanes on Phase 1 have been placed. The consultant made a 95% Final Plan submittal on Phase II. The submittal has been reviewed by GLP and DTD and review comments were returned to the consultant.
Project Look Ahead: The consultant will address all questions and make the necessary revisions when proceeding with the preparation of a Final Plan submittal for Phase II. Phase I construction will continue with the installation of road base and paving on the east lane.
