Detailed Description: Phase I Projects:
Phase I - Comite and Beaver Bayou No. 1 Bridges
Phase I - Sullivan Drainage Lateral and CN&IC Railroad Bridges
Phase I - Paving

This project will provide a four lane roadway with a raised median and shoulders on new alignment from Florida Boulevard to Frenchtown Road. This project will extend the improvements on Central Thruway by connecting the Sullivan Bridge, Canadian National and Illinois Central Railroad Bridge, Comite River Bridge, and Beaver Bayou Bridge No.1 within the Central Thruway project limits. When combined with Central Thruway Phase II and other projects in the Plan, it will provide an improved north-south connection in this area; and an improved north-south connection extending from Nicholson Drive to Hooper Road.
Project Budget: Present Day Cost $40,903,000.00

Project Progress: Comite River Bridge and Beaver Bayou No. 1 Bridge are essentially complete. Sullivan Bridge is complete and contractor is working on bridge caps and pouring the decks for CNRR Bridge. Contractor will continue to work on the bridge with deck pours continuing next month.
Project Look Ahead: Utility relocations, earthwork and drainage construction is continuing for the section between Florida Boulevard and Sullivan Bridge. Paving plans are being finalized and completion is scheduled for next month.
